SUMMARY:Blueprint Builders: Design & Problem-Solving Skills Group
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\nBlueprint Builders: Design & Problem-Solving Skills Group is a structured ABA small-group program for youth and adolescents that uses collaborative hands-on design challenges to provide opportunities to practise executive functioning, communication, social interaction, flexibility, and problem-solving skills. Participants engage in clinician-supervised activities using low-risk materials while working toward group and individualized behavioural goals that may include cooperative participation, peer collaboration, conversational exchange, planning, flexible thinking, accepting feedback, and adapting to challenges.\nSessions incorporate individualized support, behavioural data collection, and evidence-informed, dignity-focused behavioural strategies within a structured and safe environment. Group and individualized clinical goals are established and monitored throughout the program, and families may receive feedback regarding participation and observed skill development.\nThis 5-day program is offered in small-group formats for approximately ages 9–12. Participants are grouped based on age, developmental readiness, communication profile, and overall group fit. A required one-hour pre-group orientation and observational intake session is completed prior to the start of the program to support behavioural observation, goal development, participant readiness, safety, and successful group participation. Participation is subject to intake review and group suitability. Limited participant spaces are available to support individualized programming and supervision.\nDates: Monday, July 20 – Friday, July 24 from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.\nMandatory 1 hr orientation (caregiver + child) will occur – Wednesday, July 15 at 3 p.m. \nAges: 9 – 12\nFor registration and further information, please email: autism@maltbycentre.ca\n\n\n\n\n
