Autism Services – 1, 2, 3, Follow Me!

1, 2, 3, Follow Me is a program aimed at providing learners with the skills they need to thrive in a group environment.  The goals of this group will include:

• Following Individual, Group and Multi-step Instructions
• Following Group Rules
• Asking for Help
• Tolerating a Change in Schedule and Waiting
• Remaining with the Group
• Earning and Cashing in Tokens for a Prize
• Asking for a Break and Appropriately Using a Break Space

Concepts will be initially introduced in a smaller group setting and then generalized to a larger group as skills are acquired.

A Behaviour Plan will be created for each participant that will outline their learning goals for the group as well as a progress review to summarize outcomes. Content will be adjusted based on the age range of participants.

Participants must be able to communicate in full sentences and not engage in elopement or aggressive behaviour. Participants must be interested and willing to participate and learn the outlined skills.

*Snacks, Drinks and Transportation will not be provided. Participants will be provided with opportunities to have snacks and drinks during group time for those interested in sending on with their child. Please note, we have a tree nut and peanut free environment.

Who is Eligible for the Group?

This group is currently being offered to children aged 5-7 years with an ASD diagnosis.

Commitment to the Group?

Children will attend 2-hour sessions on Tuesday OR Thursday afternoons from 1pm to 3pm for 9 consecutive weeks. It is possible to enroll in both however the cost remains the same. Weekly challenges are required to be completed at home with caregiver support. Caregiver handouts will be provided each week describing the skills learning and tips to practice at home.

Group Dates: Weeks of September 18^th 2023 to week of November 13^th 2023

Virtual Caregiver Orientation: Tuesday September 12^th 2023 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm

Children Sessions: Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 1:00pm to 3:00pm

If this group is not the best fit for you and your teen, you will be contacted further with a rationale, and other possible options.

Cost: $850 *Please note, this is the cost of enrolling in either our Tuesday or Thursday group. If interested in enrolling your child in both the Tuesday and Thursday group, please reach out expressing your interest to [email protected]

Requirements: To access this group, your child/youth requires an ASD diagnosis and must be within the identified age range.
