What is involved in Flying Solo- Out and About?

Teens will learn some basic skills on how to ride solo and plan their own hang outs and get togethers. Activities will include time in our classroom learning about each skill and practicing during role plays, as well as putting the skills to use by travelling to nearby fast food restaurants, parks and stores using public transit. The following topics will be covered:

  • Using public transit safely
  • Etiquette in the community
  • Conversation skills with peers
  • Planning hang outs and get-togethers

We will be travelling to various locations throughout the group. Teens will have access to $50 over the course of the group to make small purchases and pay for bus fare. This is included in the cost of the group.

A Behaviour Plan will be created for each participant that will outline their learning goals for the group as well as a progress review to summarize outcomes.
