Autism Services – Learning @ Home: Why Use Visual Supports?


Maltby Centre, Autism Services is offering Foundational Workshops for caregivers. These workshops are designed to help parents understand concepts related to Applied Behaviour Analysis, access resources and build parent capacity.

In this Learning @ Home workshop participants will receive a short presentation on the use of visual supports to help teach children/youth with ASD skills and independence. Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions and participate in group discussion.

As a result of participating in this workshop you be able to:

1. Describe what visual supports are.

2. Explain why visual supports can help your child/youth learn new skills or develop independence.

3. Identify how to use visual supports to aid in your child/youth’s development.


Parents and caregivers of children/youth with autism in KFL&A.
