Press Release: Celebrating our Mental Health and Autism Heroes

Our clients are our heroes. We work hard to help, but our clients are the ones who put in the work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They inspire us to come into work every day. That’s why Maltby Centre is declaring October 25th our annual and inaugural Client Hero Day.

To celebrate, we’re premiering three short films that tell the incredible life stories of our former clients: Michael, Sam, and Silver.

“These three individuals are strong, brave young people with remarkable stories that will hopefully inspire many people in our community,” states Nicki Collins, Executive Director.

“My clients are my heroes because they never give up”, says Austyn Devlin, Autism Therapist. “Some of my clients are fighting every day to put one foot in front of the other and they still don’t give up”, adds Jen Brittain, Mental Health Therapist.

Join us for a relaxed performance as we play these films on the big screen at the Isabel Bader Concert Theatre, followed by a Q&A with the heroes themselves on why sharing their Mental Health and Autism stories with the KFLA community was important to them.
