Autism Behavioral Classroom (ABC) School Program – update

We wanted to provide you with an update on the Autism Behavioral Classroom (ABC) School Program.

This program focuses on foundational learning skills such as group instruction, literacy, and functional communication. If your child can follow instructions, and has a basic functional communicative repertoire, the ABC Program could be a stepping-stone to help solidify these pre-requisite learning skills. This program is offered to learners between the ages of 4-8 years old, who have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, and must have an OAP number. More information can be found here: https://maltbycentre.ca/oap-core-clinical-services/

This program runs Monday-Wednesday-Friday from 8:30am-2:30pm at Rideau Heights Public School. It is staffed with 1 Limestone District Schoolboard Classroom Teacher, 3 Maltby Centre Autism Service Therapists and 1 Maltby Centre Clinical Supervisor.

The ABC Program was previously priced at $18,000 for the semester beginning in September 2023 and ending in January 2024.

As of August 21st, the September 2023 to January 2024 Semester is now fully funded by the government and is offered at a cost of $0 to families who have an OAP number. **Cost is subject to change for future semesters such as the one beginning in February 2024.

There are currently 5 available spots for the September semester – we are currently accepting referrals (spots will be filled on a first come first serve basis and will be based on clinical assessment). If you are interested or want to learn more, please either reply to this email, and/or contact [email protected]

Referrals will be closing as of Thursday August 31st 2023 at 4:30pm
