OAP Core Clinical Services
Once you are registerd with the Ontario Autism Program your child will be placed on a waitlist to receive Core Clinical Needs Funding to purchase services. The Core Clinical Services are outlined below. Please ensure when choosing a provider that they are approved through the Ontario Autism Program.

Applied Behaviour Analysis ABA Services
Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) is a service that can be provided by Registered Behavioural Analysts (RBAs). ABA can support development in communication, social skills, self-regulation, and independent living and is tailored to individual goals. We recommend using the OAP Provider list to find ABA services that would best suit your family’s needs, confirm eligibility to use Core Clinical Needs funding, and review their professional certifications.

Psychotherapy/Mental Health
Psychotherapy services are individualized, collaborative, and evidence-informed supports designed to promote emotional well-being, build self-awareness, and help individuals work toward their personal goals. These services support the development of coping strategies and may address areas such as emotional regulation, anxiety management, social understanding, communication, self-advocacy, and navigating life transitions. We recommend using the OAP Provider list to find Psychotherapy services that would best suit your family’s needs, confirm eligibility to use Core Clinical Needs funding, and review their professional certifications.

A speech-language pathologist is trained to assess, treat, and provide information for communication problems. Occupational Therapy (OT)
Occupational therapists enable people of all abilities, including those with autism, to function in their everyday lives. They assess an individual’s situation by drawing upon evidence-based approaches and applying their specialized knowledge and skills to recommend a course of preventative or corrective action that will help people lead more productive and satisfying lives. Where can I access OAP Providers and Services?
The OAP Provider List is an online listing of Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists and Clinical Supervisors of behavioural services for children and youth with autism. It is a resource that Ontario families can use to search for, select, and confirm the qualifications of those providing OAP services.
