Loyalist Township Investment Expands Access to Mental Health and Autism Treatment for Local Children and Youth

Kingston, ON — Maltby Centre is pleased to acknowledge and thank Loyalist Township for its generous investment in children’s and youth mental health through the Township’s Community Grants program.

Recently, Maltby Centre received $50,050 through Loyalist Township’s Community Grants program. This grant allowed Maltby Centre to purchase a dedicated vehicle to better support children, youth, and families living in Loyalist Township. Reliable transportation is a critical factor in accessing care, particularly in areas where public transit options are limited. This new vehicle will help ensure young people can attend their appointments safely and consistently.

Funding for Loyalist Township’s Community Grants program is made possible through a Community Benefit Agreement with Windlectric Inc. and the Community Vibrancy Fund Agreement with Kingston Solar GP Inc. Since 2022, the program has supported charitable projects that directly benefit Loyalist Township residents. Loyalist Township, Windlectric Inc., and Kingston Solar GP Inc. share a strong commitment to working with local nonprofit organizations to enhance and enrich the community.

“We’re deeply grateful to Loyalist Township and its partners for their commitment to the well-being of local families”, said Normandie Wragg, Maltby Centre’s CEO. “This vehicle reflects what’s possible when municipalities and community organizations work together to remove barriers.”

Maltby Centre provides mental health and autism services to children, youth, and families across the KFL&A area, including Loyalist Township. For 30 years, Maltby has been a trusted source of mental health and autism services in our community. We place children and youth at the centre of all we do.
