Maltby Centre Receives $10,000 Grant from Canadian Tire Jumpstart to Launch Aspire Athletics Club

Kingston, ON – Maltby Centre is delighted to announce a $10,000 grant from Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities to launch the Aspire Athletics Club, a new program that will expand inclusive sports opportunities for children and youth in Kingston and the surrounding area.

The Aspire Athletics Club will create a supportive, accessible space where kids of all abilities can engage in athletics, build confidence, and enjoy the physical and social benefits of sport. Designed especially for children and youth facing barriers to participation, including those with mental health and developmental challenges, the program will encourage teamwork, resilience, and belonging.

“We are grateful to Canadian Tire Jumpstart for their generous support,” said Normandie Wragg, CEO of Maltby Centre. “This investment makes it possible for us to create a program where young people can feel included, grow their skills, and discover the joy of athletics. Aspire Athletics is about inspiring kids to reach their full potential, on and off the field.”

Since 2005, Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities has helped remove financial and accessibility barriers to sport and play for more than 4 million kids across Canada. Their partnership with Maltby Centre ensures more local children will have the chance to participate in positive, healthy activities that support both their physical and emotional well-being.
