SNAP Boys/SNAP Girls Program

SNAP stands for Stop Now And Plan. It is an evidence-based program that teaches children between the ages of 6-11, who struggle with behavioural issues and their parents’ emotional regulation, self-control, and problem-solving skills. It helps children learn to make better choices in the moment.
Who Should Attend the SNAP program?
Boys and girls ages 6-11 experiencing serious behavioural problems at home, at school, with persons in authority, and in the community are referred to these programs.

Presenting problems may include:
- Difficult family relationships
- Physically aggressive behaviour
- Angry outbursts
- Verbally aggressive or defiant behaviour
- Lacks self-control and problem solving skills
- Has difficulty making and maintaining healthy relationships
- Stealing
- Bullies others
- Vandalizes or damages property
We offer the SNAP program three times a year in Fall, Winter & Spring for children (6 – 11) and their caregivers.
Please note: You do not require a diagnosis to be accepted into the SNAP program.

SNAP Exclusion Criteria * Boys and girls whose problems are primarily internalizing; significant developmental delays; or autism spectrum disorders are assisted to locate more appropriate resources.
